Jassa attended the opening night gala of the East End Film Festival last night. The event at the acclaimed independent cinema Genesis marks the beginning of twelve days of film premieres, industry master classes and free screenings in venues across East London.
The opening night film was One Crazy Thing, directed by fellow Leicesterian Amit Gupta. Starring Ray Panthaki and Daisy Bevan, the heartwarming romantic comedy was praised as an insightful commentary on modern life in London and the hollow satisfactions of fame.
Other festival highlights include Panic, starring Jassa’s The Whale co-starDavid Gyasi (Interstellar, Cloud Atlas). This feature debut from director Sean Spencer is a blistering neo-noir tale of redemption and a cutting commentary on urban isolation.
